Tailored Summer

A tailored look means that the clothing is structured to fit the body well, with clean lines and sharp shapes. It usually includes pieces

DANDYISM
Dandyism is a fashion style where a person dresses in a way that is elegant, stylish, and full of personality. A dandy look is detailed, and can be a bit artistic. But it is always a polished, fashionable look. Dandyism started with men wearing fancy suits in history, but today anyone can create a dandy look by combining tailoring with color and personality.

Black dandyism came about in the 18th century as a movement where Black people used tailored clothing as a form of self-expression. This allowed those who styled in this way to define themselves beyond stereotypes and to challenge racial segregation.

MET Gala 2025 aimed to showcase the contributions of Black designers and individuals to the evolution of dandyism and its impact globally.

A Dandy Look Might Include:

• A blazer or fitted jacket with colorful pants or skirt
• A vest with a silk scarf or ruffled shirt
• A hat, cane, gloves, or stylish sunglasses
• Fun shoes — like loafers, oxfords, boots, or heels
• Jewelry or bold makeup to add flair

Miss Ireland has chosen the season of Autumn.  Autumn is the favorite season of the Irish.  The flag of Ireland is also made up of colors of autumn:  green, orange, and white.  Miss Ireland wrote a poem to describe autumn and her outfit’s inspiration.
Autumn
She comes from the end of the summer sun’s glow

Luxe Paris Look of the Year - Frolic Mills

This week's challenge was dancing.  I have always been in awe of ballet dancers; with their grace and elegance.  Ballet has some wonderful stories with amazing costuming.  With Spring upon us, I chose a delicate costume that reminded me of pansy.  Where can you find beautiful flowers in SL, but Da Vinci Gardens.

Iris is a stunning outfit made up of three pieces:  a dress, staff, and halo. This outfit with its mix and match pieces is perfect for fantasy role play or wear the dress alone for romantic dinners.  

The dress is a strapless, sweetheart neckline, wrap-around asymmetrical over skirt, mini under-skirt with a jeweled fastener at the waist.  The print is an original abstract piece of art done in golds and purples.  Iris is available for Belleza (Freya, Isis, Venus), Ebody, L, M, S, Maitreya, and TMP mesh bodies.

The halo is another original piece of art done by FINDtheFISH.  Its a black celestial background, with a layer of purple haze, with gold circles on top of that.  It gives the look of a beautiful portal to another dimension.  The halo is adjustable and moveable so you can create that perfect look.

Backstory

It’s 2025.  Kitty is driving down a dusty highway heading back home from a runway show.  She turns on the radio and hears nothing but accounts of civil unrest.  She turns to another station and hears that Global Warming continues to advance.  Because of the civil instability, there is no attempt to try and solve the global issue.  Kitty finally finds a station playing music.  She listens until she comes to the motel she is staying at for the night.

Kitty dresses in the Slow Is Beautiful trend. Because the average temperature around world is 3-5F higher; the world has become more arid.  With less rain fall, farmers only grow food and not raw materials.  Clothing has become very expensive and people own fewer, but higher quality clothes, which can be seen by the outfit Kitty is wearing.  Clothes are now being made with only synthetic materials; like Kitty’s pants, jacket, and boots.  Climate change refugees have introduced new fashion influences; like the shoulders of Kitty’s jacket.  Her outfit has many straps so that it can be strapped to create different looks.  Kitty’s greatest find at the local clothing recycling center is her white cotton tank top that was in pristine condition.
